  • A patrolling officer of the Perry Police Department encountered someone who said “he had gotten into an argument with his girlfriend and was going out for a walk to calm down.” The officer sent the man on his way.
  • A caller asked to speak with an officer about “one of his clients who he believes is getting scammed.” The caller said he is “concerned about one of his clients purchasing land for a large amount of money.” An officer responded.
  • A caller requested a welfare check on a driver of “one of the semis in the Burger King parking lot.” An officer responded, made contact with the driver and determined “all appears to be fine.”
  • A caller said he “believes he is being scammed.” The caller “said he got a call from someone pretending to be his granddaughter” and claiming “that she was in jail, and he needed to post bond of $2,000, or they would hold her until Oct. 30.” The caller said “he did not send them money.” An officer responded and “suggested he attempt to block the number and not to send money.”
  • A caller said “she received a strange phone call from someone claiming to be her grandson” but “she did not recognize his voice.” The caller said the person “told her he was involved in an accident and broke his nose, and he needed her to call” someone. An officer responded and “advised her to block the number and to never give out personal information when she is unsure.”
  • A woman entered the offices of the Perry Police Department and said “she had received a scam from a California phone number” and “claiming they have a warrant out for her arrest.” An officer responded, and “she was advised to block the number, not give out any information and to contact us if it happens again.”
  • A caller from a local bank said “they had just received a fake $100 bill in a deposit.” An officer responded and “picked up the fake money.”
  • A city of Perry employee “found a bicycle at Frog Creek and dropped it off at the bike shed.” An officer responded.
  • A caller said “her landlord is refusing to repair the furnace that is broken.” An officer responded.
  • A caller said a vehicle passed his residence “going the wrong way.” The caller said “he yelled to him through his window that he was going the wrong way,” and the motorist “then drove by again and flashed a gun at him.” Officers responded and patrolled the area but did not find the vehicle.
  • A caller reported “a child sitting in the middle of the street.” The caller said “sometimes he lays down.” An officer responded, made contact with the child and advised him “not to sit in the street.”
  • A caller from a local retail store said “a little girl had stolen some candy from the store.” The caller said “the mom wants an officer to speak to her daughter about what she had done.” An officer “responded and spoke with” the child about “why not to steal and what happens when you do.”
  • A woman entered the offices of the Perry Police Department “to speak to an officer about family issues.” An officer responded.
  • Anne Sinzobakwira, 36, 2801 First Ave., #36, Perry, was arrested on charges of public intoxication and interference with official acts.

*A criminal charge is merely an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
