  • A caller said her dog was running at large. The caller later called again and said her dog was home.
  • A patrolling officer of the Perry Police Department was approached by someone with a complaint about “vandalism done to a ‘Trump’ 4×8 political sign that he had placed.” He said “someone cut the sign into three pieces and removed the sign.” An officer responded.
  • A caller said she “has been trying to contact her sister” by telephone “since yesterday, and her line keeps being busy.” The caller said she was “concerned something is wrong.” An officer responded.
  • A caller from a local retail store said the store received a counterfeit $100 bill. An officer responded “and picked up the bill.”
  • The Perry Police Department School Resource Officer received a report that “two middle-school-age girls have not been in school since Thursday,” and one was reportedly “driving her mother’s car without her knowledge and has taken other students to Des Moines.” The officer responded but “was not able to locate the students.” The next day, “the girls went back to school” and “claimed they had been home sick.
  • A caller said two dogs were running at large. An officer responded.
  • A man entered the offices of the Perry Police Department at 908 Willis Ave. in order to speak with an officer “in regards to harassment.” An officer responded.
  • A caller said “there were kids that were stealing ‘Trump” signs off people’s yards.” The caller said there were three boys and three girls, all of middle-school age. An officer responded.
  • A woman entered the offices of the Perry Police Department at 908 Willis Ave. and said “she had a package delivered, and it had already been opened.” She said the package “was left in the hallway in front of her apartment door as she was not home at the time of its delivery.” When she returned, “she found the package had been opened, and its contents were missing.” An officer responded and started an investigation.
  • A caller said she caught a cat running at large. An officer responded, and the Humane Society of Perry was notified.
  • A patrolling officer of the Perry Police Department found a billfold and “logged it into evidence.”

*A criminal charge is merely an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
