  • A caller said “she was kicked out of her place due to a no-contact order,” and “she needs to get warm clothes and blankets.” An officer responded, and the “property was taken without incident.”
  • Lukas Hemphill, 28, 1817 Evelyn St., Perry, was arrested on three Dallas County warrants for probation violations and failure to appear on an original charge of first-offense trespassing.
  • A woman entered the offices of the Perry Police Department at 908 Willis Ave. in order “to report domestic abuse.” The woman said “it happened on Wednesday in Des Moines.” An officer responded and “advised her she needs to report it to the Des Moines Police Department.”
  • A caller wished to discuss “a civil matter between her son and his ex-girlfriend.” An officer responded.
  • A patrolling officer of the Perry Police Department encountered “someone burning” in violation of the open-burning ordinance. The officer “advised her of the open-burning ordinance,” and the burning person said she “will be putting it out.”
  • A man entered the offices of the Perry Police Department at 908 Willis Ave. and said “he and his wfe had been at” a local retail store “once,” and “they were approached by” another male. The man said “his wife was nice to him that one time and now anytime” the male “sees his wife, he grabs her by the arm and is coming on to her.” The man said he and “his wife want it to stop and have asked him to stop approaching them as well.” An officer responded and said he would “attempt to make contact with” the male and “speak to him about the unwanted advances.”
  • A caller said she received a text message from someone who said “she was being assaulted.” A second caller said “he could hear a heated altercation at the house just west of his home,” which was the same location identified by the first caller. Officers responded and were told “by both arguing parties that it was verbal only, and they decided to go their separate ways.”
  • A caller “requested an officer meet her at a rental property” because “the tenant can be unruly.” An officer responded and “walked her up to the residence with no trouble.”
  • A “caller requested a transfer for a 70- or 80-year-old male who was violent to be transferred to VA psych.” Officers responded.
  • A caller said his brother “hit his other little brother.” Officers responded.
  • Mateo Arrellana Herrera was issued a citation for first-offense open burning.
  • A caller said “she had no light, and her house was cold.” An officer responded and made contact with Crisis Intervention and Advocacy “to see about giving her assistance to getting her electricity turned back on.”
  • “While on a medical call, a meth pipe was given to” officers of the Perry Police Department by a citizen. The “meth pipe was logged into evidence.”
  • A caller said her dog was lost. The caller called again and said her dog was found.

*A criminal charge is merely an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
