Perry Police Report Oct. 24 – Part I

October 20, 2016

  • A caller said her 12-year-old daughter “assaulted her and has taken off on her bike to the middle school.” Officers responded.
  • A juvenile male from Perry was arrested on charges of reckless use of fire, fifth-degree criminal mischief, obstruction of emergency communications and false imprisonment.
  • A caller said “someone is burning near her residence.” An officer responded and found “no one is burning anymore.”
  • An anonymous caller said “she feels that four children who are being watched by a 13-year-old sibling is not right.” The caller said she was told the children’s mother “works in the afternoons and usually is not home until early morning.” The caller said she was told the children’s mother “usually is asleep when the kids get ready for school” and “is not home when the kids get home.” The caller said she was “concerned for how the kids are being raised” and was “not sure how properly they are being fed.” The caller said she was told “that the 13-year-old sibling sometimes has older friends over or leaves the kids.” The caller said she was told “there is no bedtime.” An officer responded and determined the location of the child abuse reported by the anonymous caller “was not a correct address.”
  • A caller said a 16-year-old girl “collapsed in the gym after running a mile.” Officers responded, and the Dallas County EMS was paged.
  • A caller said a cat was running at large. An officer responded and transported the animal to the Perry Animal Holding Facility. The Humane Society of Perry was notified.
  • A caller said her cat was missing.
  • A caller said “a female client was threatening to harm herself with a paperclip.” Officers responded, and the Dallas County EMS was paged.

October 21, 2016

  • Shane Kenneth Laird, 34, 1903 W. Fourth St., Perry, was arrested on charges of possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of a controlled substance-marijuana and carrying weapons.
  • Juan Carlos Armenta-Hernandez, 32, 2710 Eastern Ave., Perry, was arrested on Perry warrants on charges of possession of a controlled substance-alphrazolam, possession of marijuana, failure to affix drug stamp, eluding and interference with official acts. Armenta-Hernandez was also arrested on Adel warrants on charges of failure to appear on original charges of driving under suspension and domestic abuse.
  • Chowng Tyng Wong, 22, 2285 E Ave., Perry, was arrested on Dallas County warrants for probation violation.
  • A caller said “someone stole his check book along with $500 that were in it plus his glasses.” An officer responded.
  • A caller said a neighbor was “burning out of season.” An officer responded.
  • A caller reported “a possible underage drinking and marijuana party.” An officer responded.
  • A caller said a neighbor was “burning out of season.” An officer responded.
  • A caller said a dog was running at large. An officer responded and transported the animal to the Perry Animal Holding Facility. The Humane Society of Perry was notified.
  • A caller requested an ambulance for an unresponsive 10-month-old baby.” Officers responded, and the Perry First Responders and Dallas County EMS were paged.

October 22, 2016

  • Two juvenile males from Perry were issued citations for first-offense curfew violations.

*A criminal charge is merely an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.

    What I want to know is just how many cats turned in to the Humane Society get adopted and what time they are allotted before being euthanized. Armed with such information, let each citizen decide whether or not to give a stray a death sentence by reporting it to the police.
