October 22, 2016

  • A caller “reported an air conditioner sitting on the middle on Iowa Highway 141.” An officer responded and found a cardboard box in the roadway and no air conditioner. The box was removed.
  • A caller said “a bike has been laying in the alley behind her residence.” An officer responded and took the bicycle “to the bike shed.”
  • A caller said “his friend’s car was egged overnight.” An officer responded.
  • A caller from a Perry long-term care facility said “they have a resident from” another Perry long-term care facility “who somehow got to their facility.” An officer responded and “transported the male back” to his rightful long-term care facility.
  • An officer from the Urbandale Police Department said a billfold was turned in that “shows a Perry address.” An officer responded and made contact with the owner of the billfold.
  • A 911 caller said two girls were sending her text messages and “threatening to assault her.” The 911 caller called again and said the girls were “driving by in a red car.” Officers responded and spoke with the juvenile female caller and the juvenile females in the car and discovered “none of the girls had a valid license to drive the vehicle.” The “vehicle was locked,” and the “keys were taken to the police department, and contact was made” with the vehicle’s owner, a mother of one of the girls. “All the girls were advised to stay away from each other and that there would be charges filed if the harassment continues or if an altercation takes place.”
  • A caller “complained about someone burning leaves in the alley.” An officer responded.
  • A caller said a vehicle was “parked in the alley behind her residence for about 20 minutes” with its lights on. An officer responded.
  • Ryan Nathan Ratcliff, 30, 315 W. Church St., Panora, was arrested on a charge of second-offense OWI.

October 23, 2016

  • A caller said”she was trying to get clothes out of her ex’s house and was not being allowed to do so.” An officer responded and stood by while the “property was exchanged.”
  • Steven Caldwell, 41, 17807 130th St., Perry, was arrested on charges of first-offense OWI-drug related, driving while revoked and two counts of driving under suspension.
  • A caller reported a “big hole” on Iowa Street “big enough for a toddler to fall it.” The caller said she was “concerned about the children that would walk there tomorrow for school.” An officer responded and determined the hole “was from the contractors doing the electrical work in the area.” The caller “was given the phone number to Alliant Energy.”
  • A caller said “she is trying to get this little girl to go home.” The caller said the child was 6 or 7 years old. An officer responded and found the mother of the child also arrived. It was determined the child “had jumped out the window when mom had gone to the bathroom.” The Iowa Department of Human Services “will be contacted.”
  • Amanda Lynn Gilmore, 38, 1808 First Ave., Perry, was arrested on a charge of domestic abuse assault-injury or mental illness.

*A criminal charge is merely an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
