September 10, 2016

  • A caller said “someone abandoned a bicycle by his driveway.” An officer responded and took the bike to the shed.
  • A caller said people were “shooting behind AccuJet.” A second caller reported “a lot of shooting going on around the area of Bar-Jac.” An officer responded, and the Dallas County Sheriff’s office was alerted. The officer found the shooters, who “were target shooting and had a dirt berm built to stop the rounds.” The shooters “were done shooting when the officer arrived.”
  • A caller said her “neighbors have had an exterminator at their house four times in the last six weeks,” and “she has been seeing roaches, and she has never had roaches.” She said “her neighbors have only mowed three times this year,” and “the grass is knee high, and the mower is in the middle of the yard.” An officer responded and alerted the Perry Compliance Officer.
  • A caller said his dog was missing.
  • A caller said she wanted “to get a vehicle moved that is parked in the street in front of her residence.” She said the vehicle “belong to her ex-husband and it hasn’t moved since February.” An officer responded.
  • A caller said he “wanted to know what his options were to keep people from cutting through his yard.” The caller asked whether “he could tackle and hog tie the person up because he wanted the trespass to stop.” An officer responded and “advised against this action.”
  • A caller reported a kitten running at large. An officer responded, caught the kitten and took it to the Perry Animal Holding Facility. The Humane Society of Perry was notified.
  • A caller said her 14-year-old daughter was missing. An officer responded. The missing later returned.
  • A caller “was very upset about loud music coming from Pattee Park.” An officer responded, and the volume was “turned down.”
  • A caller “reported loud music booming.” An officer responded but did not hear any lous music.
  • A caller said two boys “knocked on their door and took off running.” Officers responded but did not find the boys.

September 11, 2016

  • James Arteamus Crow, 38, 1336 Clark St., Des Moines, was arrested on a charge of driving under suspension.
  • A man entered the offices of the Perry Police Department and said a gun was stolen from his bedroom. An officer responded.
  • A caller said her “daughter just threw a carseat at her granddaughter and scratched her.” Officers responded.
  • A caller from a local retail store asked for “assistance in removing a bird from the store.” An officer responded.
  • A caller said her neighbors were playing loud music. She said it was “an ongoing problem.” An officer responded but did not hear any loud music.
  • A caller said her 4-year-old son was missing. Officers responded and soon found the missing child. Officers spoke with the child “about not leaving without talking to his mother first.”
  • A caller said she caught a dog running at large. The caller “was very reluctant to give information and would not give her address.”
  • A caller from the Dallas County Hospital said “they are treating a child that may have been backed into.” An officer responded and “learned that had reversed his truck and bumped the child then drove away.”
  • A caller “said she’s having problems with her 18-year-old daughter.” An officer responded and learned the mother and daughter “got into an argument and” the mother “admitted to slapping” the daughter” after she talked back to her. The officer offered “some advice on working out their problem as mother and daughter. No marks were observed.”

*A criminal charge is merely an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
