  • A caller said a suspicious vehicle with North Carolina license plates was parked nearby and “has been sitting there for several hours.” An officer responded and found “it was two private investigators that were working for Workman’s Comp.”
  •  A caller said “his daughter’s husband is refusing to leave his residence.” An officer responded.
  • A caller said “someone broke into her house.” The caller said “the only things she has found missing is her TV.” An officer responded.
  • A caller said a vehicle “just struck his mailbox” and “is still there.” Officers responded. Damage to the mailbox was estimated at $25.
  • A caller said “a wheelchair broke down in the eastbound lane of Willis near 17th.” The caller said “a person appears to be trying to work on the wheelchair in the street.” An officer responded and offered assistance to the person, who “was able to remove his wheelchair from the roadway and made repairs to make it operational again.”
  • Information from the Greene County Sheriff’s office advised of a gas drive off from the Sparky’s in Rippey in the amount of $36.28. The vehicle, which left Rippey in the direction of Perry, was occupied by a female driver and a male passenger. An officer responded and “sat in the area of Iowa Highway 144,” but “no vehicles entered the city matching the description.”
  • The Perry Police Department “loaned an animal trap for some cats that keep getting into the garbage.” The borrower of the trap later called and said “he had caught a cat in the trap.” An officer responded and took “a wild black cat” to the Perry Animal Holding facility. The Humane Society of Perry was notified. The trap was returned to the borrower.
  • A caller reported “an opossum in her kitchen.” Officers responded and “used a catch pole to get the opossum out of the house” and “released it outside in the back yard.”

*A criminal charge is merely an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
