September 23, 2018

  • A caller said a man “and his wife are having an argument.” Officers responded, “separated the two,” and an officer “returned the male half home.”
  • A caller said her neighbor “mows around his fence and into her yard, and she wants it to stop.” The caller said she “would like an officer to speak with him.” An officer responded and spoke with the caller.
  • A caller said she caught a cat running at large. An officer responded and transported the animal to the Perry Animal Holding Facility but “upon arrival at the pound, the cat escaped.” The officer returned the trap to the caller.
  • A caller said a dog was barking. An officer responded.
  • Kristi Ann Mattison, 44, was issued a citation for first-offense discharging a weapon in the city limit.
  • Amber Nicole Bryant, 23, was issued a citation for first-offense discharging a weapon in the city limit.
  • Joseph Charles Spaans, 25, was issued a citation for first-offense discharging a weapon in the city limit.
  • Steven Charles Spaans, 45, was issued a citation for first-offense discharging a weapon in the city limit.
  • A caller said someone at a location “has been drinking” and “will be driving” and “has two small children who will be in the vehicle with her.” An officer responded and “patrolled the area.” The officer found “the vehicle was parked, and the house was dark.”
  • A “caller who wished to remain anonymous wanted to report a reckless driver.” An officer responded.
  • A caller “reported that someone was revving their engine.” An officer responded but “was not able to locate the vehicle.”
  • Shelby Lynn Curry, 24, 2625 Des Moines St., Des Moines, was arrested on a charge of driving under suspension and on a Des Moines Police Department warrant on a charge of possession of drug paraphernalia.
  • A caller reported “a man walking around the apartment complex with a flashlight on his head.” An officer responded.
  • Andrew Mikael Gonzalez, 31, 111 Willis Ave., Perry, was issued a citation for first-offense open burning.

September 24, 2018

  • The Dallas County Sheriff’s office “requested a drone for a missing juvenile from the Woodward Academy.” The Perry Volunteer Fire Department responded.
  • A caller reported receiving “a counterfeit bill.” An officer responded.
  • A 16-year-old female from Perry was arrested on a charge of disorderly conduct.
  • A 15-year-old female from Perry was arrested on a charge of disorderly conduct.
  • A caller reported “a semi trailer parked in front of the storage units.” An officer responded and made contact with the owner of the trailer, who said “he is paying rent to have it parked there.” The caller was informed and said “he did not recollect that information.”
  • A caller said “she dropped her 7-year-old son off” at the park “for football practice,” and she “returned to pick him up and can’t find him.” An officer responded and found “the child had been located with his father.”
  • A caller reported “an injured cat in the middle of the roadway.” An officer responded and transported the animal to the Perry wastewater plant.
  • A patrolling officer of the Perry Police Department “was approached by” someone “regarding an egging.” The officer responded.
  • A caller said “he’s having problems with his 18-year-old step-daughter not following house rules.” An officer responded.
  • A caller said she “is being harassed by her ex-boyfriend.” An officer responded.
  • A caller “said she can hear a dog barking,” and it “sounds like it is in distress.” The caller said “it sounded like the dog was far out in the distance” and “along the river.” An officer responded but “did not hear a dog in distress.”
  • A woman entered the offices of the Perry Police Department at 908 Willis Ave. “with her son” and said “her live-in boyfriend since July kicked her out from her” residence outside the city limits of Perry. The woman said “he has physically hurt her, and her shirt was ripped.” The woman said she “is also pregnant,” and she “was carrying an empty Fireball bottle” that she said “belongs to her boyfriend” and “she took from him.” An officer responded, informed the Dallas County Sheriff’s office and assisted the woman in securing a place to spend the night.

September 25, 2018

  • A caller said someone “was choking on a piece of steak, and nothing was able to get in or out.” The Perry First Responders and the Dallas County EMS were paged.
  • A caller said her wallet was lost. The caller called again and said “she found her wallet at home. It was under the bed.”
  • A 16-year-old female from Perry was issued a citation for possession of tobacco under 18.
  • A 14-year-old male from Perry was issued a citation for possession of tobacco under 18.
  • A caller said she caught a dog running at large. An officer responded and “transported the dog to its owner.”
  • A caller “requested a welfare check on her sister,” who is “with her dad,” who “was not letting her leave,” and “he almost hit her.” An officer responded.
  • A caller said her dog was lost.
  • A caller from a local restaurant said a customer “had nowhere to go and needed a place to stay for the night.” An officer responded, but the homeless person “had left.”
  • A caller said “her neighbors upstairs have been yelling and arguing on and off all night.” Officers responded and attempted to make contact with the arguers upstairs, “who did not open the door for the officers.”

September 26, 2018

  • A man entered the offices of the Perry Police Department at 908 Willis Ave. and asked to speak with an officer “regarding some things being said to his girlfriend about him.” An officer responded.
  • A caller said her 17-year-old son “has not returned home” and “did not go to work.” An officer responded and located the youth.

*A criminal charge is merely an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
