September 26, 2018

  • A caller said “his father’s Kia was taken overnight.” Officers responded, “conducted an investigation of the stolen vehicle” and located it “in the 1300 block of 11th Street” in Perry.
  • Officers of the Perry Police Department conducted a funeral escort.
  • A caller “requested to speak with an officer about suspicious activity.” An officer responded.
  • A caller said “he has been receiving threatening instant messages.” An officer responded, and the caller “blocked the person from his account and then reported the incident to Facebook.”
  • A caller said “she didn’t have the strength in her hand to unlock the door.” An officer “responded and opened the door.”
  • A caller said “she was walking around her house, and her brother keeps following her and saying he is going to put his hands on her.” The caller said “she is scared.” An officer responded, made contact with the caller’s mother and determined the caller lost her cell phone privileges, and her brother “was more than likely upset due to his using the cell phone as a hot spot for his video games.”
  • A caller said she caught a cat running at large. An officer responded and transported the animal to the Perry Animal Holding Facility.
  • A caller “requested an officer stand by while she tried to gather the rest of her daughter’s belongings.” An officer responded and stood by.
  • A caller reported “windows broken out of the basement from the house next to him.” An officer responded and made contact with the property owner, who said “there is an ongoing dispute” over “ownership of the house.”
  • A woman entered the offices of the Perry Police Department at 908 Willis Ave. with a dog she caught running at large. An officer responded and transported the animal to the Perry Animal Holding Facility.

September 27, 2018

  • A caller said “her estranged boyfriend” came “to her apartment and forced his way in” and stole her cell phone. An officer responded, and the “phone was recovered and returned to its owner.”
  • A caller said “she has Facebook on her phone, and last night she answered a call from a male not thinking about it, and he was masturbating.” The caller said “he called her back several times, and she finally blocked him.” An officer responded.
  • Tamara Ramirez, 27, 2451 N Ave., Dallas Center, was arrested on a Dallas County warrant for failure to appear on an original charge of domestic abuse assault causing injury or mental illness.
  • A caller said she caught a dog running at large. An officer responded.
  • Michael Alan Sherman, 28, 1123 W. Third St., Perry, was arrested on a charge of third-offense OWI.

*A criminal charge is merely an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
