September 20, 2019

  • Officers responded to the 700 block of William Street on a report of suspicious activity.
  • Officers responded to the 1700 block of Fifth Street on a report of criminal mischief. A vehicle window was broken.
  • The Perry Police Department received a report of possible forgery in the 700 block of First Avenue. The case is under investigation.
  • Officers responded to the 2800 block of Willis Avenue on a report of a theft.
  • Officers responded to the 1500 block North Street on a report of an assault.
  • Officers responded to the 1300 block of First Avenue on a report of a dispute. The suspect was gone upon the arrival of officers.

September 21, 2019

  • Officers responded the to 700 block of William Street on a report of suspicious activity.
  • Brandon Lee Ferguson, 21, of Jefferson was arrested on a Dallas County warrant for failure to appear on an original charge of First-offense OWI.
  • Officers responded to the 1300 block of First Avenue on a report of a physical altercation.
  • Michael Jason Godwin, 30, of 1311 First Ave., Perry, was arrested on a charge of assault while displaying a dangerous weapon.

September 22, 209

  • Officers received a report of trespassing and theft in the 1400 block of Ivy Place.
  • Officers responded to the 2000 block of W. Fourth Street on a report of damage to a residence. Officers found the damage was caused due to a leak in the roof.
  • Officers responded to the 1300 block of First Avenue on a report of harassment.

September 23, 2019

  • Alexis Soto-Compis, 19, of 627 Third St., Perry, was arrested on a charge of first-offense OWI.
  • Officers responded to the 1400 block of Fourth Street on a report of a hit-and-run accident. Estimated damage of $1000 was sustained by a truck owned by Brian Eiteman of Perry.
  • A 2016 Dodge, registered to Shaun Schulte of Perry, backed into a legally parked 2004 Dodge Neon, registered to Guillermo Hernandez of Perry.
  • Officers responded to the 1800 block of Otley Avenue for a theft report. A bicycle was taken with an estimated value of $350.
  • A 2016 Ford truck, registered to Farm Credit Services of Cedar Falls and driven by Matthew Houser of 1606 Kate Shelley Dr., Boone, was southbound on First Avenue and stopped at a stop light at Willis Avenue, and a 2002 Toyota Echo, registered to Sandra Garreans of Perry and driven by Jeremy Gohn of Perry, was southbound and slowing to stop behind the Ford truck when a 2011 Ford Fusion, registered Stacy Lynn or Laurann Perry and driven by Laurann Perry, struck the Toyota Echo from the rear and caused the Toyota Echo to strike the Ford truck. The license of Gohn was suspended for failure to pay child support, and Gohn was issued a citation for failure to provide proof of liability insurance. Laurann Joyce Perry, 23, of 2105 W. Third St., Perry, was arrested on charges of driving while barred and driving while suspended for non-payment of Iowa fines.
  • Officers responded to the 1600 block of W. Fourth Street on a report of an assault. The family dispute involved a father and a step-daughter. The situation was calmed.

*A criminal charge is merely an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
