Always a deep and talented squad, Carroll handed the Perry Summer Swim Team a 357-264 setback June 21. How did Perry respond? With a 396-170 win over visiting Lake City Thursday.

The win at the MCB pool over Lake City featured several dominating performances from numerous Perry racers, with Maddie McDevitt (8U), Sophia McDevitt (9-10), Sarah Vaughn (13-14) and both Haileigh Kenyon and Haley Vaughn (15-18) all winning five times for the girls team.

Dannah Karolus (13-14) had four wins, with Addison Huntington (9-10) and Anna Ridnour (13-14) winning three times while double-victories were tallied by Lilly Riley (9-10), Jaylene Karolus (11-12), Avery Miner (13-14) and both Stephanie Hill and Breanna Penenger (15-18) while Emily Dowd and Quin Mahler (9-10) also had wins.

Five-win efforts from Chase Archer and Drew Storey (13-14) and Devon Archer (15-18) led the boys side, with Sam Ridnour (11-12) claiming three victories.

Andy Schuttler (8U), Cristopher Gonzalez, Brady Herman and Marcus Nelsen (all 11-12) and Riese Archer and Andrew Dowd (13-14) each had two wins, with single victories earned by Josh Prombo (9-10), Ian Thompson (11-12) and Alex Thompson (15-18).

Wins against Carroll were harder to come by, but that did not stop Sophia McDevitt from posting five wins nor the combination of Huntington, Jaylene Karolus and Kenyon and Vaughn from recording four wins each.

Maddie McDevitt had three wins, with Riley, Dannah Karolus and Hill and Penenger all winning twice while Dowd, Miner, Abby Herman and Sarah Vaughn also tallied wins.

The only Perry boy to touch the wall first was Garrett Winey (9-10), who claimed three victories.

  1. Just an observation. I have noticed that you put the number of wins each swimmer got but fail to mention what events they won and the times. That is a lot more interesting than just the number of wins.
