Perry VFD responds to reported strong odor of gas Thursday night

A resident of the apartment house at 2907 Warford St. reported the strong odor of gas about 10 p.m. Thursday, and the Perry Volunteer Fire Department responded. The on-site manager of the units, left, said all appliances in the house were electric.

A strong odor of gas was reported about 10 p.m. Thursday at the apartment house at 2907 Warford Ave., bringing the Perry Volunteer Fire Department to the scene.

The source of the reported odor was not immediately identified. The on-site manager of the units said the entire apartment house uses electric appliances, and there are no gas connections.

Firefighters were seen inspecting a small gas-fired grill, but the cause of the reported odor remains unknown at this hour.

The Perry Police Department and Perry First Responders also responded to the incident.
