Perry’s wrestling team scored a 51-30 win over Greene County to cap Thursday’s quadrangular, with the win perhaps able to soothe some of the pain from losses of 60-16 to Ballard and of 54-24 to Humboldt in their first two duals.

Ballard finished 3-0 after defeating Greene County, 67-12, and Humboldt, 42-31, with Humboldt a 51-24 victor against Greene County.

He followed up with quick pins of Jade lange (HMB) in 49 seconds and of Braden Gallagher (GC) in 21 ticks.

Sixth-ranked Zachary Thompson was 3-0 at 120 pounds. He tallied a 15-0, 3:24 tech fall over Aaron Kinshaw (BAL) for his first win, then recorded pins over Cresten Craven (HMB) and Dale Morlan (GC) in 2:27 and 1:20, respectively.

Zach Stewart finished 2-1 at 132 pounds. Ranked 10th, he suffered a 6-2 loss to Ballard’s Jarrett Miller, who recorded his 100th win with the victory. Stewart rebounded to nail Corey Kasperbauer (HMB) in 1:56 before receiving a forfeit from Greene County.

Cole Snyder rallied for an emotional victory against Greene County’s Britton Gallagher at 160. Snyder was nearly pinned midway through the first period, but scored a sudden reversal and take down to stick Gallagher’s shoulders to the mat in 1:32.

The Perry team welcomed Alex Tapia to the winner’s circle when the junior picked up his first varsity win, a pin over Caden Wilson of Greene County. The fall came in 1:47.
