Ronald Tolle Sr., 87, of Perry passed away Wednesday, April 5, 2017, at the Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines, Iowa.
A memorial service will be held Monday, April 10 at 6 p.m. at the Carris Family Funeral Home in Perry. There will be a private family burial at Violet Hill Cemetery in Perry. Ronald Milton Tolle was born Feb. 23, 1930, in Perry, Iowa, to Edgar Milton and Iva Mae (Crews) Tolle.
He attended Perry High School and graduated with the class of 1948.
He was united in marriage to Donna Mae Ashbaugh, a union that lasted for 65 years.
He served his country in the Iowa Army National Guard for four years.
He worked on the Milwaukee Railroad and then on the Chicago Northwestern Railroad and was a union steward for most of his working career.
He enjoyed raising and showing horses.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Donna Mae; children, Bruce Tolle and Rosemarie Tolle; parents, Edgar and Iva Tolle; brothers, Rex and LeRoy Tolle; and sisters, Veva Ellett, Juanita Dorman and Halcyon Kistler.
Ronald is survived by his children, Ron Tolle Jr. of Perry, Rosalie Jackson of Lorimer, Jackie Hull of Washington State, Betty (Don) Wright of San Augustine, Texas, Donna Sloss of Bayard, Rick Tolle of Woodward, Marilyn Seeman of Woodward and Bob Tolle of Perry; many grandchildren and great grandchildren; and with several nieces and nephews.
