After growing up as the second-eldest of 12 children, Rose moved to New York after high school.

She worked for Western Union, and he was a boilerman 3rd class in the U.S. Navy.

Somehow these two people from the small towns of Perry, Iowa, and Quincy, Michigan, met and fell in love.

She has joined her beloved parents; and her sister, Ruth, who are at peace in heaven.

Rose was a wonderful and strong mother who supported and loved us fiercely. She helped us navigate the ups and downs of life, teaching us how to be the best could be.

She was a strong woman who wouldn’t give up and who loved to read, talk politics, laugh, give advice and voice her opinion, whether she was asked or not.

Please join us for a Celebration of Life ceremony Saturday, Oct. 23 at the Carris Family Funeral Home and Cremation Care, 1721 Park St., Perry, IA 50220 from 4-6 p.m.
