Shortly before the 1 p.m. start of the Regina Guild’s summer rummage sale, a crowd of some 30 eager shoppers stood outside the doors of the St. Patrick School gymnasium at 5th and Lucinda streets in Perry, champing at the bit for bargains.
The doors flew open on the hour, and the friendly figure of Eddie Diaz, the new principal at St. Patrick School, stepped out and introduced himself to the marketplace mavens. He might not have been putting his life in Black-Friday danger, but it showed a stout heart in the former U.S. Marine.
Once inside, the shoppers fanned out across the room, filling the aisles — and their arms — almost more quickly than eye could see or camera record.
Sale goods included clothing, housewares and a great variety of sundries. The sale continues Friday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturday from 9 a.m. to noon.
Proceeds support the Regina Guild’s activities, such as funeral dinners.
Thank you for the fun time we had while waiting to get in, Jim. It was fun talking with you. That is the cutest little man ever, lol.
Ridge is checking everyday for the newspaper. He wants to see himself. How sweet.
He’s a cutie, Annette. I’m glad he’s looking at ThePerryNews.com.
