The National Weather Service office in Des Moines has issued a severe thunderstorm watch for the Perry area until 2 p.m. Monday.
Along with Dallas County, the severe thunderstorm watch includes the counties of Adair, Audubon, Black Hawk, Boone, Bremer, Butler, Calhoun, Carroll, Cass, Clarke, Crawford, Franklin, Greene, Gundry, Guthrie, Hamilton, Hardin, Humboldt, Jasper, Lucas, Madison, Mahaska, Marion, Marshall, Monroe, Pocahontas, Polk, Poweshiek, Sac, Story, Tama, Wapello, Warren, Webster and Wright.
