Two passenger vehicles collided Tuesday morning on Iowa Highway 141 near the intersection with Willis Avenue.

No injuries were reported in the incident, which occurred about 9:45 a.m.

According to a report by the Perry Police Department, which investigated the mishap, Htay Htay Win of 2311 26th St., Des Moines, was traveling in the westbound lane of Iowa Highway 141 in a 2012 Honda Civic and approaching Willis Avenue when Win’s vehicle was struck from the rear by a 2013 Hyundai Elantra, driven by Marilyn Celeste Cervantes Castaneda of 2269 Angus Ave., Perry.

Win slowed to turn northward on Willis Avenue, but Castenada “failed to see this action due to reported fatigue,” the police report said. Castenada “attempted to swerve to the south to avoid the collision, but the right rear front struck the left rear of” Win’s vehicle, the report said.

Castenada was issued a citation for failure to stop in assured clear distance.
