Kids and cops will interact Thursday evening at the Perry Farmer Market Public Safety Night.

This Thursday evening’s Perry Farmers Market will feature a Perry Public Safety Night.

Visitors will be able to meet members of the Perry Police Department, Perry Fire Department and Dallas County EMS and check out their various emergency vehicles.

The Perry Firefighters Association will also be grilling meats alongside the many regular market vendors.

Motorists should be aware that Second Street will be closed between Willis Avenue and Warford Street from about 2:30 p.m. until 7 p.m., with parking available at the Perry Public Library, Caboose Park and the city parking lot on the northeast corner of First Avenue and Warford Street.

Due to the steady increase in the number of vendors at the Perry Farmers Market, Second Street will now be closed every Thursday evening through September between Warford Street and the alley at the Josh Davis Memorial Plaza. The half-block stretch of Second Street will close about 2:30 p.m. and reopen at 7 p.m. each week to accommodate the Perry Farmers Market expansion.

The Perry Farmers Market is a Perry Chamber of Commerce event.
