Timothy “Tim” Thoren, 67, of Perry passed away Saturday, Oct. 16, 2021, with his loving wife, Peggy, by his side at his home in Perry, Iowa.

His family will be hosting a memorial service in his honor Friday, Oct. 22 at 10 a.m. at the WayPoint Pentecostal Church at 1802 North St. in Perry. Visitation will be Thursday, Oct. 21 from 7-9 p.m. at the church. Burial will be at the Rippey Cemetery in Rippey, Iowa. Everyone is encouraged to wear face coverings and practice social distancing while attending the memorial service.

Memorials will be given to his family and may be left at the Carris Family Funeral Home and Cremation Care. Online condolences may be left at www.carrisfuneralhome.com.

Timothy “Tim” Robert Thoren was born Dec. 2, 1953, in Des Moines, Iowa, to Robert Harold and Ruby (Thornburg) Thoren.

He attended the Winterset High School.

Tim was united in marriage to Peggy Ann Baumgardner at the Assembly of God Church in Perry Aug. 2, 1975.

He worked as a painter for several years, for Asgrow Seed, refinished furniture with Kip Lepke and then for Bob Huggins.

Tim was a member of the WayPoint Pentecostal Church at 1802 North St., Perry, IA 50220.

He enjoyed redoing antique furniture, was a creative woodworker, was a talented oil painter, playing drums, harmonica, and bongos and doing Ti Chi.

Tim was a faithful Bible reader.

In death he rejoins his father, Robert Thoren; mother, Ruby Stepanek; and a sister, Kathleen Lame.

Left to cherish Tim’s memory are his wife, Peggy Thoren of Perry; daughter, Shannon (Jacob) Ballard of Perry; and son, Robert Thoren of Perry; and grandchildren, Chloe Ballard, Isaac Ballard, Levi Thoren, Elias Ballard and Leah Thoren.
