Timothy Snyder Jr., 70, passed away Thursday, June 21, 2018, at Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines, Iowa.
He was born on March 31, 1948, in Utica, N.Y, to Timothy and Grace (Waghorn) Snyder.
He married Debbie (Bean) Snyder Aug. 4, 1973.
Timothy finished his career with 20 years working for John Deere Financial, retiring in April 2014.
He was a lifetime member of Boy Scouts, beginning in 1955 and spending many summers at Camp Russell and attaining the Life rank. Later in life, he was active with his sons, serving as their Troopmaster and completing Wood Badge.
In retirement, Tim was called to community service, avidly volunteering on behalf of political candidates.
He found a spiritual home during his final years as an elder of First Presbyterian Church of Dallas Center.
Timothy is survived by his wife, Debbie Snyder; sons, Timothy R. (Tonya) Snyder of Liberty Hill, Texas, and John R. Snyder of Granger; grandchildren, Grace L. Snyder and Abraham T. Snyder; and nephews, Christian Mingea and Timothy Jones.
He was predeceased by his father, Timothy Snyder; mother, Grace L. Snyder; and sister, Kathleen A. Snyder.
The family received friends from 5-7 p.m. Monday, June 25 at Brandt Funeral Home in Dallas Center. Services were held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, June 26 at First Presbyterian Church of Dallas Center.
