Perry-area commuters traveling on U.S. Highway 169 between Iowa Highway 141 and U.S. Highway 30 should plan on using an alternate route during July and August while Brooklyn, Iowa-based Manatt’s Construction Co. completes a pavement-rehabilitation and concrete-overlay project.

The patching-and-paving project will begin Monday, June 25 and is expected to be finished by Friday, Aug. 31, according to the Iowa Department of Transportation (DOT), which contracted with Manatt’s for the $9 million road work.

The 14-mile stretch of roadway between Bouton and Ogden will be closed to through traffic for the duration of the project.

The DOT recommends motorists use the following detour route: Iowa Highway 141 east to Woodward, Iowa Highway 210 north to Madrid and Iowa Highway 17 north to U.S. Highway 30.
