Woodward-Granger improved to 18-11 overall after winning three of four matches Thursday at the Perry Tournament.
W-G opened with a 21-4, 21-11 win over Saydel, then posted a 21-19, 21-15 win over Roland-Story. A 21-10, 21-18 victory over Perry turned W-G’s match with Ballard into the title contest, but the Bombers were able to record a 21-18, 21-17 win to finish 4-0 at the event. Perry was 2-2, Roland-Story 1-3 and Saydel 0-4.
Julie Pitman had a combined 23 kills to spark the Hawks, with Ashley Gales tallying 16 kills and Alyssa Bice to lead the team. Pitman finished with five blocks, Gales three and Emma Drake two, with Drake responsible for 57 total assists.

Bice, Kaycee Major and Ashlyn Soelberg had nine digs apiece, with Katelyn Bandstra making four digs.
Drake served 35-of-36 with seven aces, with Pitman 33-34-12 and Soelberg 27-29-2. Tague was 21-23-1 behind the line, with Major 16-18-2 and Bice 13-16-3.
Woodward-Granger returns to action Tuesday with a visit from conference foe Van Meter. The Hawks will travel to Ogden Thursday to complete the WCAC portion of their schedule before hosting the Norm McCune Invitational Oct. 14.
