Hunter Mark Austin Gonzalez, 27, of Waukee was arrested Saturday on a charge of child endangerment-serious injury.

A Waukee man was arrested Saturday on a Dallas County warrant in connection with a June incident in which he allegedly broke a child’s leg but did not seek medical attention.

Hunter Mark Austin Gonzalez, 27, of 395 Fourth St., Waukee, was charged with child endangerment-serious injury.

A doctor at Blank Children’s Hospital examined the victim on June 5 for potential child abuse and reported his findings to the Waukee Police Department. The doctor concluded that “several injuries, new and old,” had “the appearance of intentionality,” according to court records.

In particular, the victim’s broken leg appeared to be “non-accidental in nature,” according to court records, and the fracture was described by the doctor as “a serious injury to a child caused by a parent or guardian.”

The injury “was believed to have happened without documentation,” according to court records.

A warrant for Gonzalez’s arrest was ordered Aug. 7 in Dallas County District Court and served Aug. 10. Gonzalez was held in the Dallas County Jail on a $10,000 cash or surety bond. He is scheduled for a preliminary hearing Aug. 20 in Dallas County District Court.

  1. Most of this information is fake, but I would love to clear up this obvious and gross misunderstanding of true events.
