Jessica Lynn Manthei, 30, of Waukee was arrested Saturday on a charge of first-offense domestic abuse assault-bodily injury or mental illness.

A Waukee woman was arrested Saturday evening after allegedly assaulting her fiance by striking him in the face.

Jessica Lynn Manthei, 30, of 105 S.E. Winfield Parkway, Waukee, was charged with first-offense domestic abuse assault-bodily injury or mental illness.

The incident began about 5:15 p.m. Saturday in the 100 block of S.E. Winfield Parkway in Waukee, where officers of the Waukee Police Department responded to a report of harassment.

The officers made contact with Manthei, who allegedly “admitted to punching the victim in the face” and “hitting him directly in the eye,” according to court records.

The victim “denied any contact between” himself and Manthei, but the officers observed that he had “a fractured left eye socket with visible injury” and well as “paperwork from the hospital” regarding his “fractured left eye socket,” according to court records.

Manthei is held in the Dallas County Jail on a $1,000 cash or surety bond. She is scheduled for a preliminary hearing Feb. 3 in Dallas County District Court.

*A criminal charge is merely an accusation, and the defendant is innocent until and unless proven guilty.

  1. Shouldn’t that be an “Ex-fiance”? If he was still thinking marriage, that fracture would have been caused by a fall in the shower when he was asked.
