Talia Sophia Reese, 23, of West Des Moines was arrested Sunday on a charge of first-offense domestic abuse assault-bodily injury or mental illness.

A West Des Moines woman was arrested on a Dallas County warrant Sunday in connection with a Feb. 8 incident in which she allegedly struck her boyfriend in the head, opening a 1″ to 2″ laceration.

Talia Sophia Reese, 23, of 6455 Galleria Dr., West Des Moines, was charged with first-offense domestic abuse assault-bodily injury or mental illness.

The incident occurred about 11:45 a.m. Tuesday in the 6400 block of Galleria Drive, where Reese allegedly assaulted the victim “by striking him in the back of the head, over and over, causing a one (1) to two (2) inch laceration,” according to court records.

The alleged assault occurred when the victim “was trying to exit their residence without” the “approval” of Reese, who allegedly “fled the scene in her motor vehicle” after the incident, according to court records.

A warrant for Reese’s arrest was ordered Feb. 11 in Dallas County District Court and served Feb. 13. Reese was held in the Dallas County Jail prior to her release on her own recognizance. She is scheduled for arraignment April 7 in Dallas County District Court.
