Capping a month of space-themed activities at the Perry Public Library, former Perry resident Sarah Weyer will discuss her experience as a technical writer for the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) Monday, June 25 at 6:30 p.m. at the Carnegie Library Museum at 1123 Willis Ave. in downtown Perry.
Weyer worked as a contractor for NASA during the moon-landing glory days of the space agency, editing technical manuals that were used in Mission Control long before the advent today’s word processing software.
Weyer’s talk will be followed by a question-and-answer session. The event is free and open to the public. No registration is needed.
The talk is sponsored by Hometown Heritage and the Perry Public Library as part of the library’s Discover Space summer programming series. For more information, contact Alissa at 515-465-7713 or info@fcctrust.org or Mary at 515-465-3569 or mmurphy@perry.lib.ia.us.
