The steel superstructure of Wiese Industries' 30,000-square-foot addition is rising now at Third and Bateman streets in Perry.

Construction is proceeding quickly on the Wiese Industries’ 30,000-square-foot addition on the east side of Third Street, south of its present building three.

After selling its property on the west side of Third Street — Wiese building four — to the Progressive Foundry in September, the drop-forge manufacturer of farm tillage tools has wasted no times in executing its own expansion.

A fixture of Perry industry for 120 years, the Wiese Corp. was bought by a Canadian company in 2003 and became Wiese Industries. The company recently its production lines at the company’s Empire Plow Co. Inc. in Cleveland and moved that work to Perry.
