Wilma Ann Adams-Ellis, 67, of Perry died Monday, Feb. 12, 2024, at the Unity Point Health-Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines, Iowa.
Visitation will be Friday, Feb. 16 from 10 a.m. until the 11 a.m. service at the First United Methodist Church at 1100 Third St. in Perry. Burial will be at the Oak Hill Cemetery in Clearmont, Missouri.
Wilma attended Southwestern Community College, where she met her second husband, Charlie.
After graduating with an R.N. degree in nursing, Wilma started her nursing career at the Dallas County Hospital in Perry.
In August 2000, she was hired at Unity Point Health-Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines, where she worked in the CCU for 15 years. Wilma later moved to the call transfer center in December 2015, where she worked until the time of her passing.
Wilma is survived by her only son, Benjamin (Lisa) Adams; grandchildren, Cassandra Jane Adams and Nathaniel James Adams; brother, James “Jim” Bears; a sister; and her loyal canine companion, Scooter.
Wilma is preceded in death by her parents, William “Bill” and Anna Bears; former husbands, Joseph David Adams and Charlie Ellis; and her loyal canine companions, Samson, King, Max and Gunny.
In lieu of flowers, please direct memorial contributions to the Unity Point Health-Des Moines Foundation in Wilma’s name. Caldwell Parrish Funeral Home and Crematory in Perry is in care of the arrangements.
