Winter weather advisory in effect until noon for Perry area

The National Weather Service (NWS) office in Des Moines has issued a winter weather advisory until noon Sunday for the Perry area.

A winter storm will continue to impact Iowa Sunday morning, with areas of snow across much of northern and western Iowa. Blowing snow is expected across northern and western Iowa as strong winds persist into the morning hours.

Total snow accumulations of 2 to 5 inches are expected.

Slick, snow-covered roads are expected to make travel difficult, and motorists should use caution.

Along with Dallas County, the winter weather advisory is in effect in Wright, Franklin, Butler, Bremer, Sac, Calhoun, Webster, Hamilton, Hardin, Grundy, Greene, Boone, Story, Marshall, Guthrie, Adair, Madison, Adams, Union, Taylor and Ringgold counties.

Perry is included in the advisory along with the following Iowa cities: Eagle Grove, Clarion, Belmond, Hampton, Parkersburg, Clarksville, Shell Rock, Greene, Aplington, Allison,  Dumont, Waverly, Sac City, Lake View, Odebolt, Wall Lake, Schaller, Early, Rockwell City, Manson, Lake City, Pomeroy, Fort Dodge, Webster City, Iowa Falls, Eldora, Ackley, Grundy
Center, Reinbeck, Conrad, Dike, Wellsburg, Jefferson, Boone, Ames, Marshalltown, Guthrie Center, Panora, Bayard, Casey, Waukee, Adel, Greenfield, Stuart, Adair, Fontanelle,
Winterset, Earlham, Corning, Creston, Bedford, Lenox, New Market and Mount Ayr.
