Tracy Bess-Thacker, 32, of Woodward was arrested Jan. 14, 2018, and later convicted of child endangerment causing bodily injury.

Tracy Thacker-Bess, 32, of Woodward had a five-year prison sentence suspended Friday in Dallas County District Court in a plea bargain reached with the Dallas County Attorney’s office.

Thacker-Bess was arrested Jan. 14 in Woodward after a caller to the Woodward Police Department reported “an intoxicated subject being out of control.” Law enforcement responded and found Thacker-Bess’ children had sustained minor injuries.

Dallas County District Court Judge Thomas P. Murphy suspended Thacker-Bess’ five-year prison sentence and the associated fines Friday and instead imposed five years’ probation. Her no-contact order with her children will also continue for five years.

Bess-Thacker was convicted of fourth-degree theft in 2015 after bilking a Utah couple of $200 by using sonograms and other hospital pictures from a previous pregnancy to trick them in a surrogacy scam.

In 2011 Bess-Thacker used 19 different aliases to connect with adoptive parents in multiple states and was found guilty of filing a false report and suborning perjury, according to a Des Moines Register report.
