Four-year-old Isaac Wright, left, and Mia Wright, 6, were about to leave for their swimming lessons when the Perry Volunteer Fire Department fire truck rolled up to their home at 319 225th St. in Boone County.

When the fire alarm went off Wednesday morning about 7:15 a.m. in a house north of Perry, the homeowner reset it. When the alarm went off again, the homeowner alerted the Perry Volunteer Fire Department, which responded and investigated.

Rhea Wright of 391 335th St. summoned the firefighters to her Boone County residence where happily there was no fire but only a faulty alarm.

Mia Wright, 6, and Isaac Wright, 4.5, seemed to find the presence of the fire truck a cause for excitement. The children were about to leave for their swimming lessons when the big truck rolled up, and they capered about the yard in their swimsuits gleefully while Perry Volunteer Fire Department Assistant Fire Chief Frank Eiteman conferred with their mother.

Six-year-old Mia Wright, left, and Isaac Wright, 4.5, wait patiently while their mother confers with Perry Volunteer Fire Department Assistant Fire Chief Frank Eiteman.
