An Urbandale man was arrested Saturday after he allegedly assaulted an Urbandale woman in the home.
Walid Abdel Malik Abdel Fatah, 43, of 15614 Wilden Dr., Urbandale, was charged with first-offense domestic abuse assault-bodily injury or mental illness.
The incident began about 11:30 p.m. Wednesday in the 15600 block of Wilden Drive, where officers of the Urbandale Police Department responded to a report of a domestic disturbance.
The officers made contact with the victim, who told the officers that Abdel Fatah allegedly “took a shoe/slipper and struck her multiple times in the leg,” according to court records.
The officers observed on the victim “a shoe impression on the right pant leg” with a pattern that apparently “matched the impression” of Abdel Fatah’s shoe, according to court records.
Abdel Fatah is held in the Dallas County on a $1,000 cash or surety bond. He is scheduled for a preliminary hearing May 1 in Dallas County District Court.
