Fleeing vehicle tops speeds of 117 in Thursday chase from Adel

A fleeing couple led county deputy sheriffs on a high-speed chase Thursday night from Adel to near County Road R30 east of Dallas Center.

A fugitive couple led Dallas County law enforcement on a high-speed chase Thursday night, at times reaching speeds of 117 mph, according to the Dallas County Deputy Sheriff in pursuit.

A male and female were taken into custody without incident about 11:15 p.m. along Iowa Highway 44 east of Dallas Center, some 15 miles from the start of the pursuit in Adel.

The vehicle in flight was a 2006 Dodge Stratus, possibly bearing stolen license plates.

The identities of the fugitives are unknown at this hour. Radio traffic indicated the male was wanted on a Polk County warrant for parole violation.

There were no injuries in the incident.
