July 27, 2017

  • A caller said she “went out to start her vehicle this morning” and “while sitting in her vehicle, her back glass shattered.” The caller “said her dad just looked at the vehicle” and “believes the window was shot out.” An officer responded and “located two holes in the vehicle caused by a low-caliber weapon. A pellet was retrieved from the scene.”
  • Edwin Adan Rivas was issued a citation for first-offense nuisance burning.
  • A caller reported a vehicle “speeding up and down Willis Avenue.” An officer responded.
  • A caller said “a neighbor across the street is shoveling dog feces into the street.” An officer responded but did not find any animal waste.
  • A caller said “he was involved in a personal-injury accident in front of the Fareway store” in Adel. The caller was transferred to the Dallas County Sheriff’s office.

July 28, 2017

  • Rosa Elena Arellano, 21, 809 N.E. Broadway Ave., #25, Des Moines, was arrested on charges of providing false information, possession of marijuana and Dallas County warrants for probation violation and failure to appear on an original charge of possession of drug paraphernalia.

*A criminal charge is merely an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
