September 18, 2017

  • A caller from a local business “reported a chicken has been seen in the parking lot for the last three days.” An officer responded but “did not locate the chicken.”
  • A caller “requested to speak with an officer about work that has been done at the store, but he feels the work was not done well.” An officer responded and told the caller “the only thing he can do is contact small claims court.”
  • A caller said “someone has broken into her garage.” An officer responded.
  • A caller said a dog was running at large. An officer responded, caught the dog and transported it to the Perry Animal Holding Facility.
  • A caller said he was “in  the brownfield area putting up a tree stand.”
  • A man entered the offices of the Perry Police Department at 908 Willis Ave. and said his “ex-girlfriend” was “using a credit card that belongs to him.” An officer responded.
  • A man entered the offices of the Perry Police Department at 908 Willis Ave. and said “someone wanted him to put flooring in a non-existing house.” The man said he “wanted to know if there was a way to track down this person as he has been targeted like this before, and it upsets him.” An officer responded.
  • A caller said “her ex-boyfriend” was “following her.” An officer responded and made contact with the ex-boyfriend, who said he “was just picking up a friend at the bar and was not aware she was there.”
  • A caller said “she went outside earlier tonight and saw a man in the alley. She told him to leave, and he did.” The caller “said she went back outside a short time ago, and the man is back in her yard.” The caller “said she went back into her residence, got a shotgun (not loaded) and went out and confronted the man, told him to leave, and he did.” The caller “also stated she believes someone attempted to break into her residence over the weekend” because she “found a screen that had been cut.” An officer responded and patrolled the area, and “all appeared to be okay.”

  • A caller said he found an abandoned bicycle. An officer responded.
  • A patrolling officer of the Perry Police Department “had someone on a bike that was trying to ditch him.”
  • A caller reported a hit-and-run accident. Officers responded.
  • A caller said “her 18-month-old son had the keys to her vehicle and locked himself in the vehicle.” An officer responded and liberated the toddler.

*A criminal charge is merely an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
