Former Dallas Center pastor Randy August Johnson, 52, pled guilty Friday to one count of child endangerment in Dallas County District Court.

A Feb. 17 arraignment date was scheduled Monday morning in Dallas County District Court for a Dallas Center man facing five countsĀ of third-degree sexual abuse, three counts of indecent contact with a child, two count of indecent exposure, two counts of assault with intent to commit sexual abuse and one count of child endangerment.

Randy August Johnson, 52, of 1201 Ash St. in Dallas Center was arrested without incident Jan. 25 at the conclusion of an investigation begun in December by the Dallas County Sheriff’s office and the Dallas Center Police Department.

According to information filed Monday by the Dallas County Attorney’s office, it is alleged that Johnson “did commit sexual abuse by performing a sex act with a child the age of 12 or 13, specifically by causing mouth-to-genital contact” and by causing the victim “to touch the defendant’s genitals with her hand.”

Johnson is also alleged to have touched the victims breasts and exposed his genitals to the victim.

The crimes are alleged to have occurred between Aug. 1, 2013, and Aug. 1, 2014, according to the trial information.

Dallas County District Court Judge Brad McColl, reviewing the trial information and the accompanying minutes of testimony, which were not made public, concluded “they contain evidence which, if unexplained, is sufficient to warrant a conviction by a trial jury.”

Johnson was released Jan. 26 from the Dallas County Jail after posting $10,000 bond. He is well known in Dallas Center as a clergyman.
