W-G golfers play in coed quadrangular Friday

MENLO — Woodward-Granger joined CAM and Exira/Elk Horn-Kimballton in playing in a four-team coed meet hosted by West Central Valley Friday.

E/EH-K won the boys meet at the 5×80 course with 169 strokes. CAM was second at 172, with W-G carding a compiled 183 and WCV a 196. CAM’s 205 claimed the girls side, with WCV shooting 220, W-G 240 and E/EH-K 246.

Coby Peters led the W-G boys with a 41, with Hunter Pifer and Brandon Worley both carding rounds of 47 while Trey Lettow had a 48. Nick Buch (53) and Alex Foster (54) also played, but did not have their scores counted.

Will Carroll had a medalist 38 for E/EH-K, with Ev Carroll recording a 40, Cole Burmeister a 45 and Tyler Petersen a 46.

Ethan Arp’s runner-up medalist 39 paced CAM, who also received scoring rounds from Ben Tibken (40), Mitchell Williamson (44) and Logan Lawrence (49).

Scoring for WCV were Grant Caltrider (43), Cole Arnburg (45), Tony Jones (53) and Carson Wadle (55).

The Hawk girls were, as has been the case all season, led by Cierra DeHoet, the senior shooting a round of 50. Emma Greiner (61), Natalie Helbling (64) and Megan Burkhart (65) added their scores to the team total, with a 73 from Kylie Limoges not tabulated.

CAM was led by the medalist 46 shot by Sammi Jahde. Also scoring were Madison Gettler (50), Halie Giegerich (54) and Sidney Aupperle (55).

Jaicee Wathne carded a runner-up medalist 49 for the low round for the hosts. Daby Davis and Emma Johnson each had a 56 for WCV, with Halieigh Runnell a 59.

Jacey Anthofer had a 49 for E/EH-K, with Mary Carroll a 58, Amy Hartvigsen a 68 and Erin Irlmeier a 71.

The W-G girls will visit Pleasantville Monday for the WCAC meet, with the W-G boys playing in their conference meet Wednesday at Panora. Both competitions will begin at 9 a.m.
