The Perry Boosters Club is asking for the public’s help in making sure the Bluejay football team does not go thirsty.
The Bluejays have hosted a yearly “sports drink” scrimmage at Dewey Field, with the donation of a bottle or two of your favorite sports drink serving as admission. This season the game was scrapped in favor of a scrimmage at CMB, leaving the team short on hydration.
On longer bus trips Bluejay players are given a boxed meal when boarding the bus while on shorter jaunts players receive a banana, granola bar, etc. and a sports drink.
The Boosters currently have approximately 80 bottles on hand; the need is 400 or more for the away games.
Those interested in helping restock the supply may drop off their donation at the display located in the lobby of Raccoon Valley Bank during normal business hours.
