PELLA, Iowa — Kathryn West of Perry will play outfield for the Central College softball team during the spring season that opens in three weeks, the ballclub recently announced.
Central is one of the nation’s top NCAA Division III programs, earning a record 31st NCAA Division III Tournament berth and playing host to a four-team regional at Pella. The Dutch posted a 33-11 record in 2023.
NFCA Hall of Fame coach George Wares is the winningest coach in Division III history, compiling a 1,232-437-3 (.737) record and guiding Central to four national titles.
The Dutch will open the 2024 campaign Feb. 24-25 at the Fontbonne (Mo.) Invitational in Edwardsville, Illinois, then make trips to the NFCA Division III Leadoff Classic in Columbus, Georgia, March 1-3 and to the Tucson Invitational Games in Arizona March 11-15.
