BOONE — Perry had only eight wrestlers in action Thursday at a quadrangular meet, with predictable results.
Host Boone stopped Perry, 48-15, with Woodward-Granger besting Perry, 54-25, while Bondurant-Farrar ripped Perry, 68-9. B-F blasted W-G, 64-15, and Boone, 56-15, as well, with W-G defeating Boone, 54-30, in the other dual.
Cole Nelson was 3-0 for Perry at 120 pounds, winning twice by pin and once with a 5-2 decision. Jeb Stewart (145 pounds) was also 3-0 for the Bluejays, winning twice by fall and with a 4-2 decision.
Tanner Burgin (138) and Keegan Snyder (160) were both 1-2, with the former winning a 6-2 decision and the latter with a 9-0 major decision.
Ian Castellanos (126), Kain Killmer (170), and Brian Hernandez (182) were unable to record wins in either of the two matches each wrestled, with Alex Fickbohm (152) turned aside three times in a tough weight class.
Perry will compete Saturday at the Ames Invitational before hosting ADM and Boone Thursday and then their annual tourney Jan. 16, with 18 teams scheduled to join the Jays on five mats in two gyms.
