OGDEN — Woodward-Granger used game scores of 25-16, 25-20, and 25-14 to record a 3-0 win over Ogden in WCAC volleyball.

W-G is now 5-17 overall and 5-1 in league play. The Hawk record can be seen as deceiving, as 11 of their 16 losses out of conference have come to schools from a larger classification.

The loss dropped Ogden to 4-13 and 2-5.

Eight different Hawks had kills in the win, with five players having recorded assists.

Grace Deputy had eight kills, Samantha Volz and Jada Tague six each and Brayten Ashman five. Audrey Simmons and Lindsay Mescher both had three kills, with Ashley Gerken making two and Darby Nixon one.

Simmons had a team-best 13 assists and Volz eight, with Tague tallying three, Nixon two and Ashman one.

Tague had 13 digs and Nixon 12 to guide the W-G defense. Ashman contributed eight digs and Simmons seven, with Volz having four digs, Gerken three, and Deputy and Mescher one apiece.

W-G served well, landing 69-of-74 (93 percent) inside the boundary. The Hawks finished with 10 aces.

Tague served 24-25-5, Simmons 10-12-2, and Volz 12-12-1, with Ashman 9-9-1 and Deputy 7-8-1. Nixon was 6-of-7 behind the line, with Gerken 1-of-1.

W-G hosts Madrid Tuesday and visits Pleasantville Oct. 7. Panorama visits W-G Oct. 12 and Van Meter Oct. 14 with the Hawks hosting the annual Norm McCune Invite Oct. 16 to conclude their regular season.
