Panorama Panthers split games with rivals ACGC Friday

GUTHRIE CENTER, Iowa — The Panorama Panthers girls basketball team battled ACGC here Friday night in a very familiar rivalry match up.

The first half was a battle, and the Panthers reached halftime with a two point lead. Five players for the Panthers contributed to ther score.

“Our defense changed in the third quarter and the composure of the girls down the stretch allowed for them to extend the lead,” said Coach Boettcher.

The Panthers came out with the win 59-46 over the ACGC Chargers.

In Panorama boys basketball action, the Panthers battled the ACGC Chargers throughout the first half, getting into foul trouble very quickly, an reached the half trailing by three points.

The Panthers were ready and steady in the third quarter but could not keep ACGC’s three-point shooters from coring. The Panthers battled hard at the end but fell just short of the win. The final score was 53-49.

The next girls games with be a non-conference contest at Harlan and then a Tuesday conference game against Woodward-Granger at Woodward. These two games will be the last before the winter break starts for the Panthers.

The next game for the boys is at Woodward Granger on Tuesday night and will also be the last before winter break.
