JEFFERSON, Iowa — A law enforcement officer shot and killed a man Saturday night west of Grand Junction along U.S. Highway 30 after a high-speed pursuit, according to a statement released late Saturday by the Greene County Sheriff’s office.

According to the sheriff’s office statement, “On or about Sept. 6, 2025, at or about 10:49 p.m., the Greene County Sheriff’s office was assisting the Boone Police Department and the Boone County Sheriff’s office with a pursuit on 220th Street. The vehicle came to a stop on T Avenue just north of 220th Street. An officer-involved shooting occurred, and one male subject was pronounced at the scene.”

The male subject was presumably killed in the incident.

The Iowa Department of Criminal Investigation is investigating the incident, the sheriff’s office said.
