A Good Friday tradition continued at St. Patrick’s Catholic School when the middle school students performed a live version of the Stations of the Cross.
A total of 26 students were involved in the production, which included musical selections from current bands chosen by the students. The Stations were performed Wednesday evening for the public, which was also invited to attend the Friday afternoon production along with the remainder of the student body.
Tony Burgos repeated his role of Jesus, with Adriana Canal appearing as his mother, Mary, while Bree Martin held the role of Veronica and David Roberts as Simon of Cyrene. Khyler Carstarphen was Pontius Pilate, with Amy McNamara, Chase and Riese Archer, Victor Diaz and Sam Ridnour in the role of Roman soldiers.
Others appearing were: Brian Hernandez, Gerardo Rodriguez and Victor Santez as apostles; Libby Hastings, Angela Hernandez and Zoe Meyer as the women of Jerusalem and Elizabeth Rodriguez, Ceanna Light, Ashley Macias, Marielena Ramirez, Beyonce Gonzalez and Sean Spencer serving as “the crowd” with Hasting, Hernandez and Meyer also in “the crowd.”
Jayna Kenney and Kaiden Summerson were the narrarators, with Ethan Light operating the spotlight while Peyton Tunink was in charge of the music.
This is a wonderful event. An inspiring, spiritual way in which to celebrate Easter.
The students were outstanding. This is something people from all faiths should have seen.
