Crusaders cruise past host Panthers

PANORA — The Coon Rapids-Bayard baseball team stepped back above the .500 mark with a 12-3 non-conference win over host Panorama Tuesday.

CR-B (14-13) scored twice in the first inning and three times in the second to open a 5-0 lead. The Crusaders held an 8-3 lead after five frames before putting the game out of reach with four runs in the top of the sixth.

Colton Lenz yielded three runs on nine hits and a walk while striking out one in picking up the pitching win for CR-B.

Brandon Riley had a single and a triple  and Sam Obert drove in four runs to spark CR-B. The Crusaders also received a pair of RBIs from Isaac McCallister and Lenz, with Brady Schlepp joing Obert, McAllister and Lenz with two singles apiece.
