The Knights (16-14) scored twice in their first at-bat. The Bluejays (8-10) responded with a run in the bottom of the frame, but the guests suddenly went off in the second, scoring seven times for a 9-1 lead. Four additional runs in the top of the third capped the scoring.

Kaleb Olejniczak started the Perry first with a triple and scored on a ground out to bring the hosts to within a run, but Kuemper would use a RBI-fly out, consecutive two-run singles and a two-run home run from Aaron Schreck to blow the game open.

Schreck added a single and a double to his dinger and finished with seven RBIs.

Michael Mohr allowed the Olejniczak triple, a Keghan West single and walks to Olejniczak, Gavin Boyer and Kyle Lockwood, but that was all. He yielded one run and struck out eight in collecting the win.

Austin Carpenter was roughed up in four innings of work. He yielded 13 runs (10 unearned) on 13 hits. He walked three batters, hit two with pitches, and struck out two.

Aaron Lockwood pitched one inning in relief, striking out two.

Perry hosts Pella Monday and finishes their regular season with a Raccoon River Conference game against visiting Winterset Wednesday.
