JEFFERSON — Panorama assistant coach and conditioning coordinator Caden Duncan will be the new head football coach at Greene County. Duncan will take over for Mitch Moore, who left after his second season to become the head coach at Des Moines Roosevelt.
Duncan has been at Panorama for three seasons, where he has been an assistant coach for football and track while serving as strength and conditioning coach for all Panther sports. He teaches health and physical education for grades 7-12.
At Greene County he will be the middle school P.E. teacher and continue to serve in his role as a strength and conditioning coach.
A graduate of Prairie Valley (now Southeast Valley) he played football for two seasons at Upper Iowa before an injury ended his career. While there he befriended teammate Cole Jaeschke, who was part of Moore’s staff in Jefferson. Jaeschke will stay on an offensive coordinator, with Duncan handling the defense.
The Rams were 1-8 two years ago but climbed to 8-2 and earned a playoff spot last season. Many of those key players will return for Duncan, whose first game will be the annual Cowbell Battle against Perry, played this year at Linduska Field.
