December 17, 2018

  • A vehicle driven by Carter Seaholm of Adel was attempting to turn at the intersection of Cassidy Curve and S. 11th Street when it struck a light pole. Damages were estimated at $2,700.
  • Brian James Schmidt, 45, 2074 Richmill Road, Fort Dodge, was arrested for OWI.
  • Adam Fetters of Adel reported a theft in the 1100 block of Jaycee Lane. The item was returned.
  • A vehicle driven by Kimberly Mattes of Adel was stopped in the 1400 block of Nile Kinnick Drive S. when a vehicle driven by Samuel Staffan of Perry struck the  rear of Mattes’ vehicle. Damages were estimated at $4,000.

December 18, 2018

  • The South Dallas County Landfill of Adel reported a theft of service in the 2000 block of Main Street. The item was estimated at $13.
  • A vehicle driven by Mathue Gruver of Adel was stopped in the 800 block of Nile Kinnick Drive S. for a pedestrian when a vehicle driven by Andrew Larkin of Adel struck the rear of Gruver’s vehicle. Damages were estimated at $3,000.
  • Brendan Michael Lane, 18, 145 Gracewood Dr., Waukee, was arrested for harassment.

December 19, 2018

  • Shauntelle Leona Johnson, 27, 1717 Court St., was arrested on three Adel Police Department warrants on original charges of failure to maintain control, striking fixtures upon a highway and reckless driving.

December 20, 2018

  • Lorraine Bailey of Dallas Center reported a theft/fraud in the 300 block of S. 10th Street. The items were estimated at $457.
  • A car-versus-deer accident occurred in the 29000 block of N. Avenue when a vehicle driven by Anita Jenkins of Dallas Center struck a deer. Damages were estimated at $5,000.
  • Casey’s General Store reported vandalism in the 800 block of Greene Street. The item was estimated at $1,500.
  • Thomas Lilley of Adel reported vandalism in the 900 block of Bryan Street. The item was estimated at $10,000.
