Ashley Diane Scheuermann Kuntz, daughter of Theodore and Katheryn Wilson Scheuermann, was born Nov. 21, 1985, at the Greene County Medical Center in Jefferson, Iowa. She passed away at the Dallas County Hospital in Perry, Iowa, on May 5, 2024, at the age of 38 years.

Ashley grew up in Bagley, Iowa. Growing up, she was a little firecracker but very loving, and she spoke her mind when she didn’t like something.

She loved her brother Jasper to no end, and they were inseparable. Ashley was Jasper’s rock and support system even though he said she was often a pain in the butt.

Ashley graduated from Panora High School in Panora, Iowa, and then went to Hamilton Business College, where she received an associate’s degree in criminal justice.

On July 13, 2013, Ashley was united in marriage to Jevon Kuntz. This was the most joyous and beautiful day of their lives, the beginning of a whole new world and future that could only be dreamed of. This was the day their lives became one.

Ashley loved and cherished Jevon along with her family and friends. They made their home in Perry, where Ashley worked as a 911 dispatcher for Dallas County for 18 years. In 2021 she was voted dispatcher of the year. She was also a certified training officer and was the dispatcher supervisor for a time. Ashley’s greatest achievement was saving lives every day.

Ashley was a member of the Girl Scouts in childhood and did flags in high school.

She enjoyed Diamond Art, animals, and going to the casino.

Most of all she loved spending time with her husband, family and friends.

Ashley was a beloved daughter, loving wife and loving sister. She was the most caring person you would ever meet and had a heart of gold. She had a smile that would light up a room. She was fearless and committed to the ones she loved.

Ashley was preceded in death by her grandparents, Larry “Poppie” Scheuermann, C. J. Wilson and E. Vester Chance; numerous great-grandparents, aunts and uncles.

She is survived by her husband, Jevon Kuntz; her parents, Ted and Kathy Scheuermann; her brother, Jasper Scheuermann; other relatives; and many friends.
